Discover Europe has just begun!

Joining the international "fashion" for this new method of promotion we have decided to make our own lip dub. Last week, first preparations and working group meetings took place. We would like to involve both Polish and international students in this initiative. We hope to share the effects of our work with you soon!

We would like to inform you that the 3rd German-Polish seminar took place at the Karol Adamiecki University of Economics in Katowice. It was organized by the Department of Consumption Research between the 20th and 27th of October 2009 in Katowice.

9th ISIR Summer School at our University

We would like to thank all the participants for joining our Summer School entitled "Changing Paradigm for Inventory Management in a Supply Chain Context". The workshops was held from 25th till 29th of August at our University.

New joint degree agreement

We are pleased to inform you that on 19th June 2009 our University has signed and joint degree agreement with Fachhochschule des BFI Wien and Anglo-American University in Prague. Within the agreement Faculty of Finance and Insurance expanded its study offer with master degree programme Quatntitative Asset and Risk Management. The graduates will receive diplomas of all three partner universities.

Ranking of Academic Schools 2009

We are delighted to highlight the position of the Karol Adamiecki University of Economics in Katowice in the Rzeczpospolita ranking of academic schools in Poland. Under the category of Internationalization, our University took the 1st place among our region's state and non-state higher education institutions, the 2nd place among Poland's state universities of economics and the 11th place among all 90 institutions included in the ranking.

Ambassador of Canada at our University

We are happy to have hosted Mr David Preston, Ambassador of Canada at our University. During his visit Mr Ambassador held a meeting with the University authorities as well as academic staff and graduates of the "Project Management" post-diploma studies, a course delivered at our University jointly with a network of state universities of the Province of Quebec. The conversation revolved around the academic issues as well as more general ones, like economic situation in Poland, Silesia applying to hold Euro 2012 Football Championship as well as future perspectives of cooperation between Canada and Poland.
