Top state decorations for our University's employees

We are happy to inform that three employees of Karol Adamiecki University of Economics in Katowice prof. AE dr hab. Józef Biolik, prof. zw. dr hab. Henryk Sroka and Mrs Barbara Centkowska were awarded Knight's Cross Order of Poland Reborn (Krzyż Kawalerski Orderu Odrodzenia Polski). The decoration took place in Belvedere on 26th of Janurary 2010. You can find more information on the President's web site.

Polish-Norwegian Seminar on university-business cooperation

The Polish-Norwegian Seminar took place on 17 November 2009. It was organised by the Faculty of Finance and Insurance and International Relations Office within the project "University-business cooperation: feasibility study"
The participants included the academic community and representatives of the business environment. Speakers from Norwegian partner universities shared their experience in developing study programmes in cooperation with business. More.

University development project

We are pleased to announce that the project titled "Pro-Roz: Design and implementation of joint development activities promoting changes to ensure higher standards of education" has been fully approved. Our University will receive PLN 12 mln (i.e. around 3 mln EURO) to be used in the years 2008-2012. The project is co-financed through the European Social Fund. |

MBA with Nottigham Business School

We have the pleasure to inform you that since February 2008 we will include in our study offer an MBA programme by license agreement with Nottingham Business School. The courses will be offered in Katowice in English and the graduates are going to receive a British diploma. Having the license granted to our University proves high quality of our academic staff and is a remarkable success of our Faculty of Finance and Insurance.

We are pleased to announce the election results for the following positions: Rector - prof. AE dr hab. Jan Pyka Vice-Rector in Charge of Education - prof. AE dr hab. Robert Tomanek Vice-Rector in Charge of Research - prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Marcinek Vice-Rector in Charge of General Affairs - prof. dr hab. Jerzy Gołuchowski. The new authorities will assume their positions on 1 September 2008.

University at the biggest educational fair in Europe

 Representatives of InterRel and the Faculty of Finance and Insurance attended the international EAIE conference in Antwerp between 10 and 13 September 2008. The conference was accompanied by an educational fair, where our University was promoting our study offer in English at the "Higher Education in Poland" stand. We look forward to many new cooperation agreements arising thanks to the contacts with partners from all over the world established during the conference. |

Ranking of Academic Schools 2008

We are delighted to highlight the position of the Karol Adamiecki University of Economics in Katowice in the Rzeczpospolita ranking of academic schools in Poland. Under the category of Internationalization, our University took the 1st place among our region's state and non-state higher education institutions, the 2nd place among Poland's state universities of economics and the 14th place among all 91 institutions included in the ranking. Newsweek magazine has published its Ranking of Polish Higher Education Institutions. We are pleased to announce that Karol Adamiecki University of Economics was placed in the 3rd position of 120. The ranking authors considered the graduates' career paths and the opporunities opened by graduating from each university.
